Bold, beautifully detailed, extremely eye catching necklace, made of bronze (sculptural elements), silver (everything else - stone settings, jumprings, chain) and amazing ammonites. Darkened to evoke feeling of rich soil, weathered rocks and rough ground. Only partially polished to create an interesting contrast.
Every single detail was made by hand, without using any moulds or ready findings. It's a real one of a kind, collector's piece. Signed and marked with a year of creation (in this case it's 2016, when the focal piece was made).
It's a story about memory of the land. On a literal level - geological layers (every spiral was made by "painting" layers and layers of bronze until getting three dimensional effect) and past "trapped" in ammonite fossils. Figuratively it's a story about passing of time and how we build on it and how this what we built becomes part of the past again and again. It's about recurring cycles - similar, but never the same. It's a question about collective memory of the land and how and what we add to it.
This necklace is rather big and bold - focal, sculptural piece is 5 cm long (2 in), the biggest ammonite is 3 cm wide (1.18) and smaller ones are 1.6 cm to 1.4 cm (0.62 in to 0.55 in). Length of this necklace is around 44 cm (17. 32 in) plus regulation.
It's definitely a statement piece of jewellery and I recommend it for a special occasion. The weight of this necklace is around 103 grams, which is quite a lot, but still very comfortable.
It will come packed in a nice box. If you have any questions, please, ask.
